[GRAPHIC: Bonnie Robertson, Attorney At Law, Robertson Law Firm] We’ve dealt with a lot of cases against the Office of Child Support Enforcement for the person paying child support. But we also represent the people who receive child support, and we do that all over the state of Arkansas. Everyone should pay for their children, and if I’m representing the person who’s receiving child support, it’s my job to discover all of the income available to calculate that child support. [GRAPHIC: As of May 4, 2007, new Arkansas Family Support law allows judges to consider the income of both the payee and the payer during payment calculation.] If I’m representing the person paying child support, it’s my job to get a fair result that doesn’t break the bank. When you’re litigating a child support case, it seems almost counter-intuitive to spend even more money on an attorney. However, you need somebody to navigate the legal process just like any other case, or the effects of not having that competent representation are going to linger for a long time.
