I have always had an interest in our legal system, even as early as elementary school, when we learned about how our Founding Fathers achieved such feats as drafting our Constitution.
As I got older and began thinking of a career path, I knew that I wanted to be a part of a dialogue that could benefit society while giving a voice to those who could not use their own.

When choosing an area of practice, I drew from my own life experiences to decide what would interest me most. I wanted to be a family lawyer and participate in helping families grow and change, just as my family has grown and changed throughout my life. I was adopted when I was three days old. I consider myself so fortunate to have been given such a wonderful, loving family.

Since becoming an attorney in 2005, my life has been impacted by the family laws of this state. My first marriage resulted in divorce, and my ex-husband and I share joint custody of our daughter. I am now remarried and have a step-son and step-daughter. I know, first-hand, the intricacies of these relationships and the effect that divorce can have on a family's emotional and financial well-being.

So, while my desire to be an attorney grew out of academic lessons and idealistic ideas, my reason for practicing law – family law – is much more basic: I help people get through the "murky details" so that they can get to the "living life" part.

After completing college at the University of Central Arkansas with a bachelor's degree in business administration, I studied law at the University of Arkansas. Except for a stint at the Arkansas Securities Department, where I litigated securities fraud issues, and a short but educational foray into banking as a commercial lender, I have practiced family law.

I reside in North Little Rock, with my husband Greg and children Anna, Emily, and Thomas. I am actively involved in the community through the Arkansas Bar Association, Arkansas Association of Women Lawyers, Downtown Kiwanis, and Second Presbyterian Church in Little Rock, where my family and I are members.
